Tesla held a rollout event at its new Semi factory in Sparks, Nevada, handing trucks to fleet customers including PepsiCo, US Foods, DHL and WattEV -- the clearest sign yet that the truck is moving from pilot builds toward its planned 50,000-unit annual production run, following the September 18 factory opening and the record 2,500-unit order announced September 22.

Tesla held an invite-only Semi rollout event on September 24 at its newly built Semi factory in Sparks, Nevada, aimed mainly at logistics and fleet customers along with employees, offering factory tours and Semi ride-alongs.

Aerial footage of the event showed a row of Semi trucks branded for multiple logistics companies parked outside the factory, including PepsiCo, US Foods, DHL, WattEV, ABF, Einride, IMC and OK Produce -- fleets that have committed to putting the truck into service.

The Sparks factory spans about 1.7 million square feet and is planned to reach annual Semi production capacity of 50,000 units. The event follows the September 18 unveiling of the completed factory and the record 2,500-unit order announced September 22, marking Semi's shift from pilot builds toward a genuine commercial ramp.

For shareholders, Semi is emerging as a new revenue stream to offset slower passenger-vehicle growth, and today's actual handovers to major logistics fleets are an early sign that the order backlog is starting to convert into real deliveries.
